Driving 2001 gmc jimmy without the oil cap .found in engine against firewall?
You have to take the plastic covers off. The plugs are underneath. Those are either torxe screws or hex screws . If they are shaped like a star inside they are the torxe screws. Get a set at pepboys for 5 bucks. Newer jimmys like yours do not have a distributor. The have whats called a DIS ignition system! D- stands for distributeless I-Ignition S-system. Instead of a distributor they use a coil pack that fires two cylinders at a time. I would explain but it would take awhile. Check your oil. If your oil level is ok just put the cap back on. Your valve cover is under a vacuum so at worst your engine had a slight vacuum leak with the cap off
