Can I reverse malachite green poisoning to catfish?

My roommate used malachite green to treat his aquarium for ich, not realizing it is toxic to tetras, snails, and catfish. We've lost 3 snails and a tetra and now the catfish is in respiratory distress. Is there anyway to help him regain his ability to breath...or is he a gonner?
